Stress management

Stress management

Inability to cope with stress is now one of the main reasons why employees take unplanned absences from work. There are numerous stressors including excessive work demands, lack of control, role uncertainty, lack of support, boredom, poor ergonomics, repetitive tasks and workplace environment problems. Continued exposure to stressors can lead to very serious health consequences. These include metabolic syndrome, a range of symptoms including obesity, high blood pressure and large waist size that increases the risk of heart disease and type 2 diabetes.

Stress disrupts sleep patterns and affects employees’ levels of concentration and performance; it is also associated with high blood pressure and a lowered immune response. We use a range of providers to assess the scale of stress problems within an organisation and then devise appropriate remedial strategies.
