Drug and alcohol screening

Drug and alcohol screening

An increasing number of employers are interested in testing employees as the effects of drugs and alcohol are becoming more prevalent in the workplace; work absence is 2 – 3 times higher for drug and alcohol abusers.

The extent to which employers can require employees to undertake random testing is limited, and great care is needed to ensure compliance with various types of legislation. The corporate policy regarding testing should clearly state who is covered and whether certain groups of employees (e.g. safety critical workers) are subject to different criteria.

We deal with organisations who provide testing services and who can provide management training and employee briefings. Services that can be arranged include drug and alcohol awareness training, random testing, “for cause” testing, pre-employment testing and counselling and rehabilitation.
